AFSOPT Carries Log In Remembrance
Every year Virginia Tech holds the 3.2 for 32 Memorial Run. This event is conducted in honor of the 32 victims in the April 16, 2007 shooting. This event is close to the hearts of all Hokies but even more so for the men of AFSOPT. AFSOPT member Matt La Porte sacrificed himself that day by charging the gunman with a desk. It was during this act of courage and determination that Matt was shot multiple times and killed. La Porte was the final victim that day as moments later the gunman took his own life.
